Aokigahara is otherwise called "Self destruction Forest" or the "Ocean of Trees." It sits close to Japan's Mount Fuji in Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park in Japan, and is known for its thick woods. The woods was the subject of a 2016 film, and Vice reports that after a famous novel set in the timberland was distributed, it turned into the location of suicides at a pace of an expected 50 to 100 individuals per year.
