A daughter killed by her family a story of love and 'honor

A 26-year-elderly person was as of late killed by her mom and siblings in a little Pakistani town since she wedded against their desires. DW inspects her story and checks out severe "honor killings" in the Islamic country.

When he found Madiha's dead body on a ranch, a neighborhood laborer called the nearby police headquarters to report it. The 26-year-old young lady had been fiercely killed, with her throat cut more than once and her body shrouded in blade wounds.

Madiha had a place with a local area in Naushehra Warkan, a modest community in Pakistan's eastern Punjab region. She was mercilessly killed in light of the fact that she needed to wed a man fitting her personal preference.

"Her folks were against the marriage. Starting examinations show that her mom and two siblings killed her for the sake of 'honor'," Ali Akbar, a neighborhood cop, told DW.

Local people say Madiha had stolen away with her darling four years prior. A couple of days before her killing, her folks had contacted Madiha through her senior sister and guaranteed her that on the off chance that she got back, the family would greet her wholeheartedly.

"We met her and advised her to return. We told her that we excused her [for getting married]. Returning, my two children halted the motorbike and advised me to remain there. Then, at that point, they took Madiha to the homestead and killed her," Iqbal Bibi, Madiha's mom, told DW from the police headquarters via telephone.

Madiha's mom and siblings conceded to the wrongdoing and say that Madiha had "disrespected" the family by eloping with her darling.
